It all started at the aquarium.

A few weeks ago I went on a trip to Quebec city with some friends. In Quebec, we went to an aquarium. It was all fun until I saw the dolphins, seals and polar bear. They seemed sad. For some reason, it got me all sad. Then, a friend (shout out to Clem if you're reading this!) started telling me to watch all these documentaries and stuff. I said hey, why not. Sooooo yea, it changed me. My brother is a vegetarian and for some reason I never listened to him. Maybe I just wasn't ready. I feel ready right now for a change like this. So, if you're a follower of this blog, you'll notice, I've stopped eating all meat and slowly getting towards going off seafood (really, it's just shrimp!). The thought of not being able to eat sushi, not ready for that.

Anyways, here is why I've gone veggie.
I'm grossed out by everything. It's not even so much how they treat the animals but what they feed them and what they are feeding them is going into us. Sorry if my facts are not 100% accurate but here it goes. Something like an average chicken should take X amount of days to grow from egg to full. But, the chickens we eat grow from egg to fully grown in like a fraction of the time that's normal. And, they are double the size they should be. Why? They are given all these drugs and shit so they're bigger. Well, you're eating this chicken and that shit is going into you. Same goes for beef, pork... etc.

I don't want to go all into produce now but I'll touch on it lightly. A tomato is picked when it's not even ripe and by the time it gets to you it's been sprayed by whatever shit it is that makes it ripe faster. That can't be good!

So do I need to go organic completely? It seems like I might be. My grocery bill is about to skyrocket. I can buy a can of coke for 75 cents but I pay $1.80 for water. Screwed up. I can buy a bag of chips for 99 cents but pay like $1.50/lb for broccoli. Ugh.

I'm grossed out by all food and frankly, I don't even know if I fully trust 'organic'. These 'organic' companies are often owned by the corporations too so how do I know they're not lieing? How do I know the label is not a lie? You don't.

.... and this is why we're all sick.

Here is something you could watch if you're interested! I liked it.

I just looked through some Quebec aquarium pics... here's what did it! The poor seals were like fighting the whole time and the polar bear was pacing back and forth. Sad!
