I feel like leaving work early today. Plans tonight at a friends place and I want to make cookies for it. Try out a new hippie recipe.

9:30 a.m: Handful of almonds

12:30 p.m: Quinoa pie and a few bites of an avocado and bean salad that was not good.

Mini eggs were had.

6:30 p.m: Korean food. Mostly veggies, some rice.
 9:00 p.m: Way too many mini eggs, some chips and 2 slices of pizza. Fail of a day.

No gym. Period.


9:30 a.m: Usual. Apple slices with almond butter and cinnamon.

12:00 p.m: I admit, handful of mini eggs. Go away Easter!

1:00 p.m: Delicious crepe from this vegan place called Hibiscus in Kensington Market. Mmmm!
4:00 p.m: Handful of chips. Work temptations are the death of me.

5:30 p.m: Juice from Fresh. Strawberry, banana, pineapple, coconut.

7:00 p.m: Slice of pizza from Pizzaoilo. Bianca, my fave.
9:00 p.m: Random late night sushi. Miso soup and a dynamite roll.

I was in a change room and caught a glimpse of the back of my head (when do you ever get to do that? hah) and wtf, is my hair this long? Obviously. I enjoy it and now I never want to cut it ever. I promise I won't be one of those weirdo people with hair touching their butt but I think I'm gonna let it keep growing for the time being. I know, you care so much.

12:15 p.m: Work catered lunch. I had two half sandwhiches, which made one complete one I guess? Some potato salad. Few bite sizes samosas.

7:00 p.m: Stir fry. Over coconut oil and with parmesan cheese.

6:00 a.m: 1 hard boiled egg, some almonds

Exercise (7 a.m.): 45 min boot camp, 5 min jog. I wasn't feeling it this morning.

9:30 a.m: Apple slices with almond butter and cinnamon.

I feel crabby. My hair is uggo, my face looks weird, my shirts too tight. Guess who's PMS-ing!?! Everything is drama right now.

12:45 p.m: I scarfed down a slice of pizza from some random store. It was soo good. Spinach, sweet potato, goat cheese... that's all I remember. Felt home made. Well, it was. It was some small bakery.

2:30 p.m: This. I am pre-writing this knowing I will have it. Will update on taste. I expect the taste of grass.

Update. It did. I had one gulp.

7:30 a.m: I found coconut curry tempeh. My entire place reaks. I can't stand it. Ewwwww. Didn't even taste good. So I ate the broccoli and zucchini which I baked in coconut oil and parmesan cheese.

7:00 p.m: Salad, sorta. Avocado, tomato, olive oil, lemon juice, s & p. Boring.

9:00 p.m: I was at a friends. I ate some chocolate. She had popcorn.

What a week it's been. Oh man! Can't wait to sleep in tomorrow.

6:00 a.m: Almonds

Exercise (7 a.m): 1 hour with trainer. I was gonna get measured/weighed this morning but I said F it. I felt fat and knew I'd see no results. I have one more session with her in 2 weeks. I'll do it then.

9:00 a.m: Banana

9:45 a.m: Green tea. Trying to get into it cause it's good for you. Also had 3 squares of dark chocolate.

12:15 p.m: Salad. Click on photo and it says what's in there. Raw, vegan, gluten free = hippie food!
3:00 p.m: Mini eggs, Apple. One good, one bad? I was having such a healthy day.

5:00 p.m: A brownie, half a cookie, some pretzels. Fun!

9:30 p.m: Stove top popcorn with some choc chips in it. :P

3:00 p.m: "Veggie" chips from bulk store.

Exercise (4:00 p.m): 15 min jog outside. I DIED. Treadmill is completely different than outside.

5:30 p.m: The bottom of this has spaghetti squash. Rest is baked zucchini, tomato, garlic, onion, salt, herbs, broccoli, cauliflower, corn. Parmesan cheese all over to add some flavor. Even that didn't do it cause the parmesan cheese I buy is "low fat".
7:00 p.m: Handful of amonds

Did a nice haul at the bulk store today. I bought quinoa flower. I imagine it's full of protein. Time to google.

8:00 p.m: Kale chips. Mmmmm

9:00 p.m: Popcorn. Stove top

1:45 p.m: Salad. Kale, tomato, wheatberry, dried basil, salt, olive oil, lemon juice, zucchini and onion fried in vegan butter, parmesan cheese.

6:30 p.m: Veggies and hummus

8:30 p.m: Apple with almond butter

My eyes are watering and nose is runny. Ugggggh. Napped for 3 hrs Boring, useless day.

10:00 p.m: Stove top popcorn with choc chips melted in it. mmmm. Try it if you have no fear of diabetes.

12:45 p.m: Bought. Quinoa pie, pretty good. Some mushroom medley salad.
4:00 p.m: Popcorn... smartfood popcorn so not the good kind.

8:00 p.m: Below. Spaghetti squash. Then I took a dish and shoved iti n the oven with the following. Olive oil, onion, garlic, salt, potato, tomato, zucchini, parmesan cheese. Not too bad.
Exercise (9:45 p.m): 30 mins on treadmill. Walked. Boring. Annoying couple walked in so I ditched.

12:30 p.m: Being spoiled at work here. Free lunch again. Not that healthy but it'll pass I suppose. Sandwich with garlic mayo, avocado, goat cheese, mushroom, arugula. Cookie too.
7:00 p.m: Out at a pub with friends. I had the tofu quinoa pie thing and a salad. Then I had dessert mofo's.

5:00 p.m: Handful of crap. Delicious crap. Work. You know how it is. Cheese, crackers, baby carrots and hummus, cookies, mini ice cream sandwich

Exercise (8:45 p.m): 30 mins on treadmill. Broke a sweat at least. 10 running before I felt barfy.

I also made cookies that I had way too many of while baking. They didn't turn out as good as I would've liked. I hated them actually but meh. Practice makes perfect and it was my first time using icing that is supposed to harden. Let me tell you, it didn't really harden! Must keep trying til I get the right consistency.

6:00 a.m: One hard boiled egg

Exercise (7:00 a.m): 45 min boot camp, then I voluntarily did a 5 min jog on the treadmill. I was feeling good and motivated. Partly because last night I put on my gym clothes then fell asleep on the couch. Bah. My couch is too comfortable.

9:30 a.m: Smoothie/protein shake thing.

12:30 p.m: Fresh. Salad. Ingredients copied off the site. Quinoa & adzuki bean tabouleh on shredded raw kale with goji berries, Toasted Nut & Seed Mix, parsley, cilantro, sunflower sprouts, grilled sweet potato & tofu steaks.

4:00 p.m: Apple slices with almond butter. Delish.

7:30 p.m: Protein shake. It's all I can make from what's available. Rice milk, berries, protein powder

9:00 p.m: Kale chips

I mayyy have had two heaping spoonfuls of my homemade nutella. I love it. It tastes like Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Mmmmm!

I'm sure you'll notice I skipped the boot camp. F. I'm sore, wtf? AND! I feel odd, like headache odd. Why? I fell asleep at like 9:30 yesterday cause of it. I think I am still dehydrated. Grrrr. It's hard to keep drinking water non stop!!

12:15 p.m: Salad care of work. Woohoo. Description stolen from web-site. GRILLED PORTABELLO MUSHROOMS served warm on a bed of mixed greens & garnished with roasted red peppers, fresh crisp cucumber, tomato wedges, shaved red cabbage, slivered marinated eggplant, shaved red onions, kalamata olives & julienne sundried tomatoes. Finished with a sprinkle of crumbled chèvre cheese and roasted pepper salsa (herbed balsamic vinaigrette). Zoeys!
3:30 p.m: Handful of pretzels

6:30 p.m: Exact same dinner as last night. Except the broccoli was fried in vegan butter. So good!! 

7:30 p.m:  Stove top popcorn, used olive oil.

I bought this dress from Urban Outfitters in a navy blue. I am having anxiety. I returned my original purchase of coral for blue, now I want black.
Ughhhh. Really, I just want something I can wear casually. So, work. I'd wear this dress to work, I think. Too fancy? I don't know. Should I just say F it and get the black one?? I am imagining it in the summer with like red flats. Too goth? Come on folks, we all know I'm like 20% goth. Hah.
Edit: Yea, I totally bought this.

9:00 p.m: Smoothie, shake? What is this? In a blender I mixed almond butter, rice milk, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, oats, frozen banana, water.

March madness

At the end of this month it will be my one year anniversary with this blog. I haven't hit 30 pounds yet. I mean yes, I'm down a size, 20 pounds now, feel better, eat better (most of the time) and overall, proud of myself. But, I set out for 30 and damnit I have to do it.

The plan
Boot camp insanity.
I plan to go to boot camp Mon-Fri mornings. Ouch. It begins today. I did my work out for the day, tomorrow morning boot camp and so on.

Ahhhh. I don't think I can lose 10 pounds in one month but hell, 5? I don't know. I just need to step it up a notch. Help me?

If you read this and know me personally, help!! Be a supportive friend. Don't let me reach for those chips at the office (you know who you are), don't let me go for sushi with you (you too...), don't let me fail!!

8:00 a.m: Cup of strawberry, banana fruit juice. Look at me expanding from my usual of only water!

12:30 p.m: Mmmm! Overpriced but yummy. Tomato soup, black bean and avocado salad. I also had a few pieces of super dark chocolate.
3:00 p.m: I'm pre writing this knowing I'm gonna eat this later and I'm super excited about it. I'm having an apple with my homemade Nutella. Yay!

7:00 p.m: Salad. Kale, avocado (healthy fats overload today), tomato, salt, wheatberry, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cilantro, dried basil

Exercise (8:45 p.m): 30 mins on treadmill. 15 running non stop. Woohoo! I've never passed th 15 minute barrier. I always give up at 10. Today, 15, good. Next time I just gotta force it to 20. I always say this, never do it. Whatever. 262 calories. I'll take it.

I realized that my entire life I've lived within 200 meters of a hydro tower. My parents had it right behind the backyard and even now my condo is right in front of one.

I don't like it.

I just googled and the # 1 thing it said it causes most is leukemia in children. Ummmm, yea. That hits close to home.

Yay Friday.

I just came across this little fun fact on the internets. Good to know! I need to get back to my eating almonds first thing in the morning streak.

1:00 p.m: Sandwich. Thick bready bread, avocado (I know, again, I forgot and it was too late, I had ordered it.), goat cheese, garlic spread, olive oil, arugula, salt. Some greens on the side.


1:30 p.m: Half a biscuit. Holy crap it was good. I don't know what was in it but I know I tasted butter so yea, I'm sure that was fatty.

Exercise (7:00 a.m): 45 min boot camp

Today was good. There is a girl in my class who's been in it for like what 8 months? Omg. 8 months. Anyway, she's very much like me and lately we've been in the mode of doing more. So, I told her about my thoughts of hardcore March. The fact that March makes this blog one year old bothers me. I still am not at 30 pounds, feels so close. The plan is to go to the other boot camp that is Mon/Wed/Fri also. So 5 days a week now. DEATH! But I have to do it. So I've inquired. We are going to start next Wednesday if it all works out and there's space. If not, she's becoming my new gym buddy that I have to meet there so now I feel accountable. I feel good about it.

10:00 a.m: Granola bar

12:15 p.m: Falafel sandwich, apple after

2:14 p.m: Few, only a few ok? Cadbury mini eggs.

5:30 p.m: Small date square

7:00 p.m: Stir fry with asparagus, broccoli, corn,  mushrooms, tofu and the last of the korma sauce. Finally.
