Tuesday

9:15 a.m: An egg burrito with salsa. Then I found a fruit fly on it at the very end. I feel shitty now. I want to blame the place I bought it but I can't. It's nature and this is life. The place is not dirty. People open and close doors and bugs will get in. At that one moment the bug flew onto my sandwich and got stuck. It's not going to kill me. If it were something else like a centipede or something really disgusting, I might have reacted differently.

12:15 p.m: leftovers from yesterday's lunch. Tabouli and sarma. I put hemp hearts in the tabouli. Genius Narine, genius.

Exercise (7:00 p.m): 5.4k run outside. Starved and ran to the grocery store.

9:15 p.m: veggie curry with Greek yogurt and 1/2 avocado. What's in the bowl you ask? Fried mushrooms and onion in coconut oil to start. Then added chick peas, broccoli,  frozen peas and carrots, canned tomato, coconut milk and curry. Good.

Monday

Body pain from yesterday's workout. Reoccurring theme on Mondays.

10:00 a.m: I had a homemade chocolate chip cookie. It was good.

12:00 p.m: I decided to treat the office to some of my mom's home cooking. I don't know why. I felt like it. So it was all of that foreign food.

7:00 p.m: 3 scrambled eggs with butter and feta cheese. 1/2 an avocado.

10:30 p.m: Shake. Rice milk, banana, cinnamon, protein powder, honey.

Sunday

9:00 a.m: 2 scrambled eggs and some tea

Exercise (11:00 a.m): 2 hrs of boxing training. So F-ing sweaty it's embarrassing. But damn is it good. Apparently next week we're getting in the ring. OH GOD. It's been a while.

3:30 p.m: Was at my parent's house so I had foreign food you won't get, and lots of it. They also still had those mini chocolate Easter eggs. Had.

9:00 p.m: 2 rice cakes with almond butter, honey and cinnamon

Saturday, April 27, 2013

Saturday

9:30 a.m: Apple with almond butter, cinnamon and honey.

Exercise (1:00 p.m): the weather is finally getting worthy of running! Did 6.8k. Having a hard time passing like 7.5. My legs turn to jelly.

3:00 p.m: random mix. 3 scrambled eggs with butter. Boiled sweet potato wedges. Parsley, tomato, feta, lemon juice, olive oil, basil salad thing.

6:45 p.m: parents house. Pita bread with avocado, tomato, cheese.

10:30 p.m: Saw a movie. Had some rice chips and frozen yogurt.

Friday, April 26, 2013

12:30 p.m: Veggie curry with brown rice and a potato soup. Full.

4:00 p.m: chips. Like I do every damn Friday.

Exercise (7:00 p.m): 7.3k run outside. Took 51 minutes. Not bad? 3 weeks til the 10k. Eeeek.

9:00 p.m: 2 hard boiled eggs

Thursday

There was this guy on the streetcar that kept looking at me. I didn't understand. My entire life when a guy (or anyone for that matter) is looking at me I instantly assume they are thinking something negative and that there's something glaringly obviously wrong with me. No, they can't possibly be looking at me for a good reason. He was also cute. Which made me think for sure there's no way. Cute boys don't like girls like me. Or any boys really, hah. In any case, I did my usual. Ignore him to the death and make no eye contact. Am I crazy? No. I just know who I am and what I want. Single lady forever and I don't F-ing care.

6:30 a.m: Protein shake. Rice milk, protein powder, coconut flakes, banana, honey, cinnamon

12:00 p.m: What a lunch. I had intentions of buying a great big salad but what did I eat? A super creamy pasta that was offered up at work. Then I even had a ridiculously tasty coconut cupcake. My fatso ass is loving it.

7:00 p.m: 2 hard boiled eggs. Sweet potato, broccoli and cauliflower roasted in the oven with some olive oil. Mushrooms sautéed with onions and curry in coconut oil. Good.
Portion control problem? I don't know. Is this too much?
8:30 p.m: 1 rice cake with some almond butter and cinnamon

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

Wednesday

Irritable right now. Why? Who knows. I'm never really in a great mood.

9:30 a.m: A scrambled egg burrito

12:00 p.m: Half a sandwich that was basically avocado and tomato. Then I had last night's dinner, which was the same thing without bread.

I had 3 mini carrot cupcakes. Yumm.

5:30 p.m: Apple

9:00 p.m: Made the cauliflower pizza again. Added Brussels sprouts on top. I made enough for two servings and kinda ate it all in one sitting. Ugh. I have no control when there is good food in the vicinity. Clearly this is my problem. I think the best way to solve this is this. As soon as you take out your portion for one meal, put the other portion away and in the fridge right away. That way it's already getting cold and you're not going to go out of your way to re-heat it. I have at least that much control.

Was on the couch and knew I was doing it. I fell asleep all cozy and woke up at 6 a.m. still with my make up on. Gah. On the up side, I woke up at 6:30 and had a nice little half hour of breakfast and relaxation and no panic to get ready. It was nice.

Tuesday

Good morning.

The weather outside is just perfect. I wake up feeling normal. It's not too cold, not too hot. I usually wake up my freezing because my room is all windows. Right now, ideal temperature.

8:00 a.m: Shake. Rice milk, cinnamon, frozen banana and apple slices, spinach, protein powder.

12:00 p.m: Leftovers of the pizza last night. Salad made of spinach, hemp hearts and garlicy dressing.
Exercise (6:30 p.m): 6.5k run outside. 45 minutes. Need to step it up. 7.5k next time.

8:00 p.m: parsley, cilantro, green onion, avocado, feta cheese, tomato, lemon juice, olive oil, S&P. Not too bad. Still hungry, I think. I don't know. I'm just always thinking about food.
9:15 p.m: a bit of homemade kale chips.. Kale was going bad. Threw it all out. Why does my produce go bad within days?!? Anyways, then I had my usual rice cake thing.

Monday, April 22, 2013

Monday

7:15 a.m: 2 rice cakes with almond butter, banana, cinnamon, coconut flakes, honey.

9:15 a.m: A wrap with scrambled eggs in it. Dipped in salsa.

1:30 p.m: A weird salad. it's basically cucumbers, tomato, onion, black beans, feta cheese and balsamic dressing. I also had half a cookie and half a cupcake earlier. They were deliciously worth it.

8:00 p.m: Finally made something new. It was amazing. Pizza using a crust made of cauliflower! So good! Recipe is here for the crust. Toppings were different.

Sunday, April 21, 2013

Sunday

11:30 a.m: Shake. Coconut milk (the carton kind), protein powder, cinnamon, spinach, banana, coconut flakes, honey.

2:00 p.m: tabbouleh and egg salad.

5:00 p.m: I did it. I bought Kraft dinner. I got the one that's made of cauliflower and not as bad as the original. It claims it doesn't have any weird ingredients and stuff. The label actually is pretty ok minus the sodium. Anyways, I ate it. It wasn't as good as the original. Next time I have a craving for something bad, just eat the real thing.

This week has been terrible for food. I went out to eat way too much and didn't make the right choices every time. I'm not letting myself feel like crap over it. I can't spend every day being sad about what I ate. Just eat it and move on cause there's no going back.

Saturday, April 20, 2013

Saturday

11:30 a.m: 1/2 an apple. Pancakes made of almond flour, eggs, cinnamon, coconut milk and flakes. Honey all over it. Not bad. Not great.

3:30 p.m: leftovers of the roasted veggies. Spinach, mushroom and onion sautéed in coconut oil. Hemp hearts over it all.
7:30 p.m: went to moxies. Avocado spring rolls (gooooood!), a salad with spinach, goat cheese and stuff over flat bread, bite size brownie.

I was up all night with the acid reflux. :( I didn't throw up though sooo that's good?

I've gone out to eat way too much the past week. I enjoy the company of my friends but the food is killing me.

Friday, April 19, 2013

Friday

8:00 a.m: Shake. Coconut milk (the carton kind), protein powder, cinnamon, spinach, banana, coconut flakes, honey. New obsession is putting spinach in these shakes. What a quick way of getting fresh greens without even tasting them.

9:45 a.m: There are various nuts in the office. I ate a handful. Candied pecans... drool.

12:30 p.m: sushi

5:00 p.m: chips

9:30 p.m: roasted sweet potato, cauliflower and broccoli. 2 hard boiled eggs with hemp hearts. 1 donut. My friends brought it over.

Dreams

It's a weird day already.

First, my weird dreams.

Dream one
My usual "something in your room is coming after you" dream. I have this one maybe once every few months. I will "wake up" in my room and it'll be dark. Something is basically trying to grab me but I can never see it. Well this time, I sorta saw it. It was two black shadows in a round shape. The interesting thing now is that when these dreams happen, I know what is happening. I instantly think "it's those things again trying to get me, NO, not this time" and I fight back. So in this dream I fought back and was trying to grab these shadows. I remember being all up in my blanket and couldn't. Eventually they disappeared and I was left in my room. I remember getting up and trying to scream something like "Go away" or "Stop it!" around my condo but I had no voice. It was very faint. I never have been able to scream in a dream. Is that a common thing? Anyways, I eventually actually woke up and was relieved it was a dream once again.
You could argue it was never a dream, and that this could've really happened. The one thing that always makes me feel confident that it was a dream is that yes i'll always be in my condo but few things will be off. Like my kitchen was totally different. Phew! Anyway, weird dream. Moving on to the next one!

Dream two
So all I remember was waking up and realizing it was 9 a.m. and clearly my alarm never went off. So I panic and lay in bed trying to figure out how I will lie to work cause clearly I'll be super late. Long story short, after what felt like the longest dream ever, my alarm goes off (in reality) and it's exactly 7 a.m. Perfect timing. I actually miled in bed laughing cause seconds ago I had such panic.
That dream was more exciting. I can't remember all the tidbits. I'm over it.

Here's a good song in the spirit of dreams.

Thursday

7:30 a.m: Same as yesterday... and the day before... it's done though. I'm out of bananas. Well, fresh ones. I've frozen a bunch so here come the protein shakes.

12:00 p.m: 2 slices of bland pizza. Not worth it. It was from work.

1:30 p.m: Carrots and some dip. Egg salad sandwich.

Exercise (6:30 p.m): 6k run outside. It was a perfect run actually. I was out and about and my friend called me. Her and another friend were sitting in a park nearby, so I ran there and joined them. We sat watching kids at some park and then the clouds starting rolling it. That's when we decided it was time for food...

8:00 p.m: Chinese food. Yea so? It was carby (well, some veggies...) and covered it unknown sauces. I ate it all. It was deep fried tofu, deep fried turnips, veggie chow mein, fried vermicelli curry.

Then I went home. I really enjoy my friends all living walking distance from me. I get to see them a lot and my weeknights aren't always just sitting at home. Why reserve the weekends for having fun... weeknights should be fun too! I mean what else would you be doing? Sitting at home watching TV? That's been my whole life thus far. No more.

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

Thursday

There were these suburban moms on the subway on their way to Cityline. I couldn't handle them. They only solidified the fact that I 100% do not want to be a mother. I have this conversation often with my friends. I am so sure I don't want children. Many people would say "you're young, you don't know yet, you haven't found the right man". No. F you. I don't want kids. Not for me. These moms spent the entire 45 minutes talking about their kids and the various things they do for them. They were so loud and no one cared. It's 8:30 a.m. and everyone is on their way to work. They were clearly stay at home moms with money, from the suburbs. I just can't imagine my entire life being devoted to my kids. It changes everything and I don't think i'll ever want that change. I can't imagine giving up everything to take care of kids.. forever. I'm too selfish. I want to hoard my money and do shit for ME. I want to be 45 and jetting off to Europe. I want a house I can decorate and no kids to mess it up. I don't want a child constantly looking to me for advice and I don't want to be responsible for who this human turns into. Too much responsibility. I'd also like to say there is nothing wrong with this. A lot of people can't understand it. I get it. The typical life cycle for someone is be born, be a kid, grow up, get an education, get a job, get married, have kids, retire, die. I'd just like to take out the get married and have kids part. You don't even want to get me started on getting married. I will entertain the idea of maybe one day even being in a relationship... maybe. Right now, hells no. If I'm going to have a boyfriend he better be perfect. He better not call me every day and wonder where I am 24/7. He better not want things from me. He can't live with me. He can't be overly emotional. We would just be two people who get along really well and enjoy each others company but still live separate lives. Find me that man. Hah!

Now I just want to rant more. Ugh. I guess this is what blog's are for. I'll stop. Thanks for reading. Back to my regular scheduled programming.

8:00 a.m: Protein shake. Coconut milk, cinnamon, protein powder, coconut flakes, spinach, honey, banana.

Power went out as soon as I left the house. If I had not made that shake right before I walked out I would've been stuck in the elevator. Yikes! Had to take the stairs down but it's all good.

12:30 p.m: A good ol fashioned lunch the way the non Ethnic kids at school would eat. Hah. I never had this type of thing as a kid. An egg salad sandwich, veggies and dip, macaroni salad.
A few chips.

7:30 a.m: haven't made this in a while! Veggies, Greek yogurt, 1/2 avocado. I had my rice cake almond butter dessert right after.

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Wednesday

8:00 a.m: Shake. Coconut milk, protein powder, cinnamon, coconut flakes, fibre powder, banana

12:00 p.m: Same as yesterday. No more leftovers. 1 slice frittata and same salad.

2:00 p.m: I had to satisfy a craving and this is what it was. An egg salad sandwich on plain white Wonder bread. They have that at little coffee shop by me for like $3. Sold. Egg overload today.

I had 3 pink Starbursts and a handful of chips.

7:30 p.m: I went to Jack Astor's with friends. yep, another night out. So what? I'm young and my friends don't have kids yet. I should enjoy it while I can! Anyway, we shared nachos. Good. I had an amazing salad (Go Jack's!). It was like greens and quinoa and goat cheese and walnuts and goodness. We then had dessert. I always do! :) It's this fresh baked cookie with ice cream on top. I used to have it allll the time in high school. It tastes even better now. So worth it. I was itching for more.

I fell asleep on the couch when I got home and woke up at 6 a.m. Oops. Time for a night in.

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Tuesday

7:15 a.m: Obsessed with this right now. You can't tell me that's not delicious looking? Feels like dessert without all the guilt!
12:00 p.m: Leftover frittata from yesterday (one slice) and more of the salad.

7:30 p.m: Went to Nome with friends to celebrate a graduation. Go Clem! You're like the only friend I think that reads this so shout out! You also should not have paid for dinner. I'm still mad about that and we all owe you. Had sweet potato fries, a single shrimp, a sliver of salmon and a salad. The salad was not something I could even say I knew the ingredients too. It was delicious though.

9:30 p.m: Friends house. Slice of chocolate cake.

Monday, April 8, 2013

Monday

12:00 p.m: Soup from yesterday

6:45 p.m: 2 rice cakes with almond butter, cinnamon, coconut flakes, almond butter, honey. Death by delicious.

7:30 p.m: mmmm. Made a frittata with loads of veggies. Had with a salad that was just spinach and an olive oil/lemon dressing. Was a bit too much. I could've been fine with one slice. Felt full all night.
No exercise.

Sunday, April 7, 2013

Sunday

12:00 p.m: almonds

Exercise (12:45 p.m): 45 mins at gym. 15 treadmill, 30 weights.

1:45 p.m: protein shake. Coconut milk, protein powder, fibre powder, cinnamon, banana, coconut flakes, honey

5:00 p.m: a bag of those rice cake chips. It happened. Better than regular chips?

7:00 p.m: made soup. Veggie broth, leeks, butter, mushroom, quinoa, onion, curry powder, sweet potato, salt. Put Greek yogurt in after. I decided Greek yogurt makes everything delicious.
9:00 p.m: Apple with almond butter, cinnamon and honey

Saturday

I hate updating on weekends. Here it goes.

Breakfast at Uncle Betty's. saw it on one of those TV shows once. Was pretty good. I just got home fries, salad and an egg and cheese sandwich thing. But it was on a donut. Interesting.

Shake from Freshly Squeezed. Frozen yogurt, chocolate, banana, protein powder

Sushi. Dynamite roll and gyoza.

Friday, April 5, 2013

Friday

Feeling fat fat fat

Had 2 cookies already.

12:30 p.m: Hummus, 2 small falafel's, some tabouli. Small servings. Still hungry.

What did I do? Can't remember.

I went to moxies for dinner and had nachos and a great salad. Then a bite of brownie. It was free. So what.

Thursday, April 4, 2013

Thursday

I feel bloated and fatso. Wtf. Something is up. Story of my life (for the last two years at least). Constant struggle of eating healthy, exercising, falling off the wagon, getting back on. Life.

9:30 a.m: Egg burrito breakfast thing with salsa. So good. Gotta stop. I man it's like 90% just scrambled egg but I feel uneasy about the wrap for some reason. Trying to reduce the unnecessary glutens.

1:00 p.m: Lunch didn't help. I had 4 falafel's, rice, a few mushrooms, some salad greens and baba ganoush. I lose.

I had a mug full of chips. Yum.

Exercise (6:30 p.m): finally got running outside. 7.2k in 55 minutes. Gonna get to 10k one way or another. This weekend. Gonna happen.
Runkeeper app. Best.
8:15 p.m: sautéed cauliflower, onion, mushroom, spinach in coconut oil. Salt and curry powder for some flava.
I made chocolate chip cookies for a work gift thing. I ate too much raw cookie dough and cookies later. My stomach actually hurt.

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

Wednesday

I managed to work out. The key is to never go to bed so waking up for the gym is a breeze. I slept on the couch with the lights and tv on all night. Woke up like ever hr to noise. By the time 6 a.m rolled around, I still never really felt like I slept. But I did. Just not all comfy and cozy in my bed.

Exercise (6:00 a.m): 30 min treadmill run. All I can handle.

8:00 a.m: Protein shake. Coconut milk, fibre powder, protein powder, banana, coconut flakes, cinnamon

12:00 p.m: Leftovers from last night with greek yogurt. This is the image from last night when it was cooking. You care.
Chocolate eggs.

7:30 p.m: Working late, again. Had Fresh. A salad and sweet potato fries.

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Tuesday

Crazy day of work ahead of me. Breathe.

9:15 a.m: An egg and veggie wrap with salsa.

1:00 p.m: a medley of stuff. Grilled eggplant in the middle. A 'vegan magic bar'. Whatever.
Ate chocolate eggs, again.

10:00 p.m: yup. Late at work. By the time I got home I refused not to eat. I made the curry I always do. You'll see a photo of the leftovers on my Wednesday lunch I'm sure.

Monday, April 1, 2013

Monday

Ok. April. New start. I'm back.

12:15 p.m: Sweet potato I baked in olive oil and some spices. Chopped spinach fried in coconut oil with onion, S&P, curry powder.
That's a small plate by the way.
6:30 p.m: At work. Brown rice with Thai curry tofu and veggies. Here's a pic from the web-site.
I had a few mini chocolate Easter eggs here and there.

There goes working out today. 9:30, at work.
