Thursday

Crabby. One of those mornings where everything goes wrong. First off, screw you, news. It's not THAT cold outside, it's just really windy. I bundled up expecting the worst and I got to work sweating. Mind you I had to walk from the station because the streetcar broke down. Another reason why I'm crabby. Hair down in curls = bad idea when it's windy. Whatever. If you're really cold today it's because you don't have a sufficient Winter coat. If you don't have one, get one, you live in Canada.

7:30 a.m: Protein shake. Coconut milk, protein powder, banana, cocoa powder, fibre powder, ice.

12:00 p.m: Leftovers from last night's dinner but with 2 hard boiled eggs with it.

Also, I'm slightly annoyed. There was a work even that I was gonna go to tonight so that meant I was skipping boot camp. Turns out really, I don't have to go. I didn't bring my gym clothes so now it feels like a waste. I'm gonna go to this work event anyway and eat garbage food and regret life.

Negative Nancy today and hate the world.

3:00 p.m: A couple of bagged kale chips

I went to two separate pubs last night. I had nachos at both. Then I had a brownie. I'm not proud of myself. Never am. I got home and got my period. SHITTY.

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Girl.

I dyed my hair. It doesn't look like this in person. This is what it looks like in light.
If I were naturally light haired it would always look like his. Damn.
I'm gonna keep dying and lightening it until it gets to this. I want to be the little mermaid.

Wednesday

7:45 a.m: 2 rice cakes with almond butter and banana

12:30 p.m: A lentil wrap and mushroom soup.
3:15 p.m: Apple with almond butter. I've probably maxed my 'healthy fats' limit today.

Exercise (6:15 p.m): 1 hr boot camp. Sweat puddle.

7:30 p.m: protein drink

9:15 p.m: cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, sweet potato roasted with olive oil. Spinach and onion fried in coconut oil. Tahini all over.

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Everything hurts.... sung in the key of R.E.M's song, Everybody Hurts.

8:00 a.m: Handful of almonds

1:00 p.m: A salad with tons of spinach and feta, strawberries, blueberries and balsamic dressing. A quinoa salad with it. Lots to eat.

There was cake in the office. I didn't have any. Yessssss.

4:00 p.m: Apple and almond cashew butter

Exercise (6:15 p.m): 1 hr boot camp. We got this sheet and a timer goes off and you have to do every exercise for 5 minutes. See how many you can do. It was killer. Here are my results!
7:30 p.m: Protein drink

9:30 p.m: roasted sweet potato and Brussels sprouts. Mushrooms fried in coconut oil. Tahini over all in the end. Good. Tahini wins.

Thursday

So a bit about my life.
Yesterday I wrote about how I had the heat on for the first time. Well, last night I put it on again. Hate it. My bedroom was perfect because all the windows don't let it get too hot. However, the moment I walk out it's a friggin sauna. So annoyingly hot that this jar of ghee (google it) literally liquified. WTF. I had the heat on low and everything. Annoying!! So ya, no more heat. I'm just gonna wear socks and a hoodie to bed. Why is this important to you? It's not.

I also have made the decision to skip boot camp tonight. My life. My rules. I work out enough.

9:30 a.m: A breakfast burrito with salsa I bought. It's essentially a tortilla wrap with scrambled eggs, onion and green pepper. Nothing special.

12:15 p.m: Leftovers from last night's dinner.

Had some chips. Banana. Starved.

8:30 p.m: 2 hard boiled eggs, mushrooms fried in ghee, roasted Brussels sprouts. Grocery shopping time.

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Wednesday

7:30 a.m: 1 hard boiled egg

10:00 a.m: Apple with almond/cashew butter

Random. I actually have the heat on at home now. Omg. Yea, it finally got cold enough that I decided it was time. It's sad because I don't even pay for heat and hydro, it's all part of my condo fee. So really, I could abuse it. But, feeling hot is incredibly annoying. Anyways, I put it on low overnight and when I woke up it was so nice and cozy. My room is all windows so it's normally a fridge. Not even exaggerating, fridge. You walk in to it from the other room and instantly feel cold air. You care.

12:15 p.m: A mushroom soup, a lentil wrap with like veggies and stuff in it, a chocolate, coconut, oat macaroon thing.
3:00 p.m: A bit of chips. I'm not even mad about it.

Bite of a cookie

Exercise (6:15 p.m): 1 hr boot camp. Sweat.

7:30 p.m: protein bar

9:00 p.m: See below. Ingredients should be pretty self explanatory.

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Tuesday

On day's like today, I hate seeing people waiting for the streetcar wearing a hoodie. Come on, get a real jacket. It's Winter.

10:00 a.m: Banana

Had some tea. New for me. Not bad.

12:15 p.m: Leftover of the veggies from yesterday's lunch with spaghetti squash. Still hungry. It wasn't satisfying at all. Need protein too. Grr.

2:30 p.m: Baby carrots with 1/2 an avocado.

3:30 p.m: I had like 7-10 Miss Vickie's chips. Apple with almond cashew butter. Ready for boot camp.

Exercise (6:15 p.m): 1 hr boxing boot camp. Loved it. Feels good when for once you know what you're doing and you're actually good at it.

7:30 p.m: Protein shake. Almond milk, banana, protein powder, ice.

9:15 p.m: 2 hard boiled eggs, spinach, onions and mushroom fried in coconut oil. I know this is super simple but I love this meal.

Monday, January 21, 2013

Mama said knock you out.

Soooo good news. I'm back to boxing! :)
Yeaaaa I'm back to being punched in the face! Who would've thought I'd like it.

Me and two other ex co-workers/friends/fellow Agency Wars participants have been talking to our coach on the side. We're going to train with her. She said she's going to kick our ass. I believe her. We're only three people vs. the eight we were in training. More focus and individual attention. Love it. The only scary thing is the only other female in our group is badass. I'm going to have to fight her every time and that's going to be a challenge. She. Is. Good. Better practice for me though. Show no fear! Unless she's reading this, which I don't think she does, then she knows i'm scared of her. :) First session is on Sunday morning. Fingers crossed no bruising.

Monday

8:00 a.m: 2 hard boiled eggs

12:00 p.m: Leftover from last night's dinner. Added 1/2 avocado. You'll see this again tomorrow.

1:30 p.m: Banana

2:30 p.m: Snackage for two. I need to fill up on food before boot camp. I likely won't eat dinner tonight, stick to a protein shake or something. 1 apple and 2 rice cakes with almond/cashew butter.

Exercise (6:15 p.m): 1 hr boot camp. I thought it wasn't so bad at the time but its been 2 hrs and my muscles are hurting already.

8:30 p.m: Cauliflower with hummus. Toasted Brussels sprouts. Obsessed.

9:30 p.m: Protein shake. Needed it.

Sunday, January 20, 2013

Sunday

I've been busy. No exercise, bad eating for Fri/Sun. Back at it.

Exercise (12:00 p.m): 30 min treadmill run

1:30 p.m: Had a few dates while cooking. This turned out ok, not the greatest but edible. Spinach along the bottom. Top is fried in a pan with coconut oil - Tomato, zucchini, cauliflower, mushroom, sweet potato. I tried to stay away from the beans and corn that I usually put in here. Made the difference. I guess this is healthier but it didn't taste as good. Ah well. This is life.

7:00 p.m: Protein shake with the usual ingredients. Bought fibre in powder form too. Adding that in now. Can't hurt!

10:00 p.m: still hungry. Brussels sprouts and 2 eggs.

Friday, January 18, 2013

Friday

Get me home already. Hoodie and army pants mode. Lazy casual Friday.

7:30 a.m: Coconut milk, protein powder, cocoa powder, ice.

12:00 p.m: Leftover from yesterday's dinner.

2:30 p.m: Doritos! Just one of them days.

3:15 p.m: Apple. I'll have more chips I'm sure.

7:30 p.m: 2 hard boiled eggs, brussells sprouts, fried onion and spinach. mmm.

Thursday, January 17, 2013

Thursday

Is it Friday yet?

7:30 a.m: 2 hard boiled eggs

9:00 a.m: 3 pieces of 85% dark chocolate. That's done. Thank God. Although it's great that 3 squares is only 4g of sugar, that's nothing! Mind you I don't enjoy it as much as pure milk chocolate but hey, it calms the sugar nerves.

12:30 p.m: I'm considering this a 'cheat'. All after I wrote in my last post. I suck. I had a vegan veggie Thai curry with brown rice and a potato soup. The one upside of this being vegan is the curry sauce is not made of heavy cream but instead of coconut milk. However, I've now eaten a grain (the rice), soy (the tofu) and carbs (the potato soup). I swear I'm just going to live off broccoli for the rest of my life.

4:00 p.m: Baby carrots

Exercise (6:15 p.m): 1 hr boot camp

9:00 p.m: Sweet potato and Brussels sprouts toasted in olive oil. Mushrooms fried with onions and coconut oil.

Feelings.

I decided to weigh myself this morning. I was 1 lb up. I don't know. I know you shouldn't be basing everything on a number on the scale but come on. Do you see how much i've been working out and how little food cheats I've had in the last month!?! It's a record for me! I feel like I should've lost more weight by now. Soooo I reached out to a nutritionist. She was the one used in Agency Wars. She does online coaching and I'm just curious what it costs. If it's manageable, I may take her up on her services. I mean, I have a blog that details every F-in exercise I do and food I eat, I'm a dream to them! Maybe she can tell me what I'm doing wrong. If I need to exercise more, i'll have no life. Really. So it has to be the food I eat. I suspect my calorie intake is too high? I eat fairly healthy but even a huge portion of veggies has calories at the end of the day. I also don't eat meat. I'm really trying to make up for it by adding more protein shakes but is it enough? I really don't want to have to start eating meat purely to lose weight. I've also been making sure to get plenty of water daily. I don't drink anything else. I need help. I'm not going another Summer without being where I want to be. Last Summer was the first Summer ever since pre-teen years that I actually wore a sleeveless shirt in public. I know, shocking. This year I want to up it and wear shorts! hah. I haven't worn shorts sincccce hmmm, I think the last one I remember I was 11 or 12. I don't want to hate Summer, I want to enjoy it. It's sad that weight can make you not enjoy it but it's true. Going outside in pants and a t-shirt is uncomfortable as hell.

To my friends who read this: Betcha didn't know I was this crazy did ya?? :) Well I am, get over it.

I've maxed my rice cake limit for the day.

Sunday, January 13, 2013

The idea of moving to another country is getting more and more attractive. It's not that I hate it here, I'm just bored. I don't want to be one of those people who just work every day and nothing changes. I want to at least see the world. I want to work at a coffee shop in Paris and make enough money to live in a small place on my own. Too much to ask? I thought of other places. I hate Americans so no U.S, Asia scares me on my own, Paris is just beautiful. Ugh. The googling has started. I should take French classes, that'd be first step. If all else fails, I would know French.

Sunday

12:00 p.m: Kale, spinach, mushroom, onion fried in coconut oil. Egg salad made of 2 eggs, dijon mustard, green onion, S&P, cottage cheese. Not too bad.
2:00 p.m: Parents house. I want to leave and I've been here 5 minutes.

9:15 p.m: protein shake with stuff in it.

Saturday, January 12, 2013

Good news!

I weighed myself and I've lost the 5 lbs I gained during the damn holidays. yesssss!

10:30 p.m: Bit of popcorn

Friday, January 11, 2013

Sunday, January 6, 2013

Sunday

It's technically Christmas for me today. I was supposed to go to church but I got out of it cause my brother is sick and isn't going. Yessssss. It's also the one time a year we go out for dinner with my family. We never ever go. Ah well. I didn't want to go anyway cause wherever we went wouldn't have healthy options. So, onwards grocery shopping I go to buy healthy meals for the week. Here I come boot camp!! I've been really good so far. No sugar yet!!! I just decided I need to up the protein. I'll have to make myself a simple protein powder and water drink once a day cause that gives me like 30 grams in one shot. Other than that I'm just getting it from my foods. Anyway, I'm rambling.

11:00 p.m: 2 rice cakes with cashew butter.

2:00 p.m: Salad. Tomato, 1/2 avocado, basil, spinach, S&P, lemon juice, almonds, olive oil

4:00 p.m: Soup I made that turned out delicious. Leek, mushroom, sweet potato, onion, veggie broth. Nothing better looking than veggies sautéing in a pan!
6:00 p.m: Protein powder and water.

8:00 p.m: Stove top popcorn

9:30 p.m: An almond biscotti (at a friend's house...). Lost on no sugar but at least it wasn't too high in it.  Wasn't very sweet at all. Anyways, I successfully dodged going to like a bubble tea place so I feel like that was a win.

Idiot.

So, um, I'm kinda terrified of rain and have this fear it's always gonna flood.
Why is it almost 2 a.m. And I'm watching real life footage of the bug tsunami from years ago. It's on tv. It is horrifying. My worst nightmare and its not even like I'm watching some movie, it's real. These are survivors videos. Ugh, I can't even imagine. I'll never ever move near an ocean. Ever.

I'm afraid to sleep cause I don't want to dream about this.

Saturday, January 5, 2013

Made enough for lunch tomorrow. Woohoo! On the right track so far...

Tuesday, January 1, 2013

It's a new year.

I don't want to be all cliche and say all these new year things I plan on doing. I'm just gonna bitch cause I feel moody these days.

I feel moody and all teenage angsty. I can tell you exactly why. I am off my healthy eating track and it ruins everything. I'm irritable for no reason and I honestly hate looking in the mirror. I need my strong body back!! It's insane how much a 5 pound gain can change everything. I'm really looking forward to boot camp starting again.... 4 days a week, starts Monday! Work is also very busy and stressful right now and I'm actually a bit nervous about that too. Lots to do and I'm the only one responsible for it. Someone from work is going to one day read this and realise that I'm a duck. Yes, a duck. Calm and cool above the water, paddling like crazy underneath. I'll survive... I hope. I just don't like to disappoint people and I feel like I always do. See, teenage angst and emo. Give me a damn carrot!

What else can I bitch about?

Oh. Want to know a secret? I absolutely cannot stand the sound of chewing... been that way since like I was 10. Best part... my family has no concept of eating with your mouth closed or not talking with your mouth full. The past two days have been torture. Every moment I am at the table or near them eating I am literally being tortured. It's THAT bad. If you ever wanted to torture me, tie my hands up (so I can't plug my ears) and chew loudly. I will likely blow up. Just thinking about is making my blood boil. Ahhhhhhhhh! You're wondering how I grew up? I stopped eating at the table in my teen years. I'd take my food to my room. I can't imagine how bitchy I'd be if I still lived at home. My parents would hate me. Those commercials where dogs are chewing on their food? I change the channel. Ugh. Something is wrong with me.

I'd also like to bitch about something else.... and this is going out to my friends. Only one reads this, I think, and he doesn't count.

Stop making fun of me for being a vegetarian. I know you don't mean harm and it's all fun and jokes. But, I don't just eat carrots and grass. I eat REAL food... balanced meals. I'm not perfect but I try. Do I make fun of you for your high fat, carb filled, deep fried diets? No. I may not eat meat but my broccoli will always beat McDonalds!

Tuesday

Back to healthy.

10:30 a.m: 2 hard boiled eggs, boiled sweet potato, kale and spinach pan fried in coconut oil. So good.

2:30 p.m: At cousins place where we had leftovers from last night's dinner. The meal was actually healthy, it was dessert that failed. I said I wouldn't have any, only if it was worth it. I actually kept my word. See below for what I was up against. I wanted to try them ALL. I decided to really look and only eat what was something amazing. A lot of those are good but not something you eat and are like holy crap. Except one. That cake in the middle. As soon as I saw my cousin take it out of the box I knew it was special. She always goes and gets pastries fresh from some pricy bakery. Never fails. This was some almond cake. It tasted like an almond croissant in cake form. I died.. and so did my whole family. It was well worth it. Anyways, no more.
Exercise (7:30 p.m): I did a 30 min body weight exercise program using the Nike exercise app. I was good and sweaty. Planning to run in the morning.

8:15 p.m: Protein powder and water

9:30 p.m: Stove top popcorn
