Saturday.

I checked my weight on my scale this morning when I got up and I gasped. It was a good gasp. That is all.

2 p.m: Almond butter on whole wheat tortilla.

Exercise (2:30 p.m): 45 mins on treadmill, power walking. 15 mins on weights, arms.

5:00 p.m: Salad, see below. It's been a few days since I had this so sush!! Arugula, goat cheese, tomato, chicken, green pepper, sauteed onion and mushroom... with light balsamic dressing. I also had kale chips again. Turned out better!

Expecting some friends over tonight. Watching the UFC game at my place. I could care less about it, won't lie. But, I offered up my place cause hey, I have no plans. I also have a case of beer in my fridge that well, let's face it, I'll never drink so someone has too!

9:00 p.m. and onward: Friends came over with snacks. Nooooo. I had stove top popcorn. Then, more Cadbury mini eggs than I should've. One bite of an Aero bar, one starburst candy annnnnd hmmm, I think that was it!

Friday :)

Breakfast: Snacking on baby carrots til lunch.

Lunch (1 p.m.): Chicken burrito. Healthy! Hah. Whole wheat pita, rice, beans, corn, guacamole, tomato, sour cream, cheese.

I may have also had two bites of a chocolate cake. Two!! Gah. Delicious.

4:30: Gah, as per usual we have the Friday afternoon snacks at work. I had too many chocolate covered almonds, some Dorito's and some cheese. I need to skip these things from now on. I'm gonna get home and not be hungry. I think I'll re-try the kale chips again tonight.

Exercise (8 p.m.): Brace yourself. I did 45 mins of power walking and 15 of running. I died but loved it. Then I did a few arm weight exercises. I feel good.

9:15 p.m: Protein shake. The usual ingredients.

Ok so a friend had called earlier saying that a few people were going to a pub. I decided not to go cause I knew I needed to work out and if I did go, I'd end up eating pub food. Sooo, I said no. Then! After the work out was done another friend calls who lives nearby and asked if I wanted a ride. Sooo I gave in seeing as how I had already worked out. So I got there at like 10 and had water for the rest of the night til like 1 a.m. I'm starving right now. It's like 1:20 as I write this. I'm sure I'll sleep soon anyways. Anyways, it took everything in me not to buy the damn nacho's.

I feel like although I ate somewhat unhealthy today, I didn't eat enough. How do you find that fine line!?! Where you aren't malnourished or not overeating. If I go the 'eat less' route than my body is going to just store the fat I do eat because it needs it to survive. If I eat too much, well, you know how that goes.

This is stressing me out now and I don't want to write about it more. Here, look at this photo. Hilarious. Start at the top.

omagad... it's almost Friday.

My subject lines are always about the day and how close it is to the week-end.

Breakfast (10 a.m): Apple muffin from Starbucks. Someone brought it in to work and I had it.

Lunch (12:30 p.m): Salad. Arugula, goat cheese, green pepper, chicken, tomato in balsamic dressing. I'm obsessed with this right now ok?

Ok so I just looked back this week and I've had my goat cheese salad every day this week. The beauty of these blogs I guess, I see my habits and try to change them. Sooooo I need to try something new now. It's been 4 days in a row with it. Tonight.. ummmm... I have the almond butter which I just want to eat out of the jar. Let's be honest. Hmm. We'll see.

3:30 p.m: Banana, 3 multi grain tortilla chips.

Exercise (6 p.m.): 45 minute boot camp.

Dinner (8:15 p.m.): Pizza... sorta. Whole grain tortilla, tomato sauce, marble cheese, onion, mushroom, corn, chicken strips. I also had some almond better with tortilla chips. I feel guilty about the almond butter.
10:30 p.m: Sooo I'd like to thank Gwyneth Paltrow's appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show for introducing me to this and now I love it. Basically, you drizzle olive oil and salt over kale and bake for like 10 minutes. DELISH! Another serving of veggies :)

Goodnight!

Ok, edit to the kale. I ate like maybe a third of that. I put too much olive oil and salt and it's too strong to have too much. I'm only enjoying the few pieces with very little on it. Now I know for next time.

Wednesday... come on, be Friday already.

Breakfast (9:20 a.m): Currently having some oatmeal made with water, with banana. Some cinnamon for flavour though it adds very little. The banana is the savior right here.

Gym work out session so I need to fuel up to avoid feeling lightheaded!

10 a.m: Snacking on carrots until lunch.

Exercise (12:30 p.m): 1 hour with personal trainer. Sweated like a bitch.

Lunch (2 p.m): Greek chicken salad and potatoes. Yes, that's tzatziki sauce ok? Whatever.

Dinner (7:45 p.m): See below... turned out pretty damn good! Whole wheat tortilla, goat cheese, arugula, green pepper, tomato and chicken. Toasted and then wrapped. I feel hungry already.

 8:30 p.m: greek yogurt

9:30 p.m: I have tasted almond butter and I Love it. I had like a spoonful just to taste it but damn, I loved it. I can't wait to buy like some toast or something to have it with.

Cool Article.

Thanks to a friend, who also keeps a food diary here, I got this interesting article. Thought I'd share!

http://articles.elitefts.com/articles/training-articles/strongher-university-the-female-psyche/

Talks about what a lot of women do wrong when trying to get fit. Focusing too much on cardio and not enough strength training. At least that's what I got from it. It's not until now that I have a trainer that it's all hit me all the things I have been doing wrong all these years. One being exactly what it says in this article, too much cardio.

Enjoy!

Rain!

Breakfast (7:30 a.m.): Granola cereal with rice milk.

Lunch (12:30 p.m): Salad and an assortment of other salads. It was arugula with goat cheese and tomato in balsamic dressing. Then, I got some potato salad and mushroom salad too on the side. Feels like it was a lot but it was all veggie really.

Afternoon cheat (2:30 p.m.): I got suckered a little, ok, not suckered, asked, to go to Second Cup for a White Hot Chocolate. My fave! Haven't had one in months. So I did. Hmph. Sugar overload.

Exercise (6 p.m.): 45 minute boot camp

Dinner (7:30): Protein shake. Rice milk, strawberry, banana, ice, protein powder.

9:30 p.m: Protein shake never keeps me full. I had 2 hard boiled eggs with salt & pepper. Now I'm done!

Tomorrow I have a lunch gym session. Looking forward to it actually. I get to go home after work for once! Well, lie, I badly need to go grocery shopping. My fridge now has carrots and cheese. That's it.

Total side subject: I'm watching 'The Voice'... this new show. I'm kinda liking it. I think I have a crush on Adam Levigne from Maroon 5. Hmm. Come onnnn... he's hot!

Goodnight!

Monday.

Ok, this week I'm back. Full force work out time! I feel I failed the last 4 days or so what with Easter and well, being a girl at a certain time of the month. Hey, you want honest I give you honest.

Breakfast (9 a.m - now): Snacking on baby carrots til lunch.

Newsflash! Carrots taste like shit when eaten directly after drinking water.

Lunch (1 p.m.): Salad. Arugula, potato, tomato, goat cheese in light balsamic dressing.

Obsessed with goat cheese right now. Until someone crushes those dreams and tells me it's horrible. I got the super light low fat one damnit. I can't do without cheese... I looooove it. Click here for the nutritional info.

I just found out my trainer session is cancelled for tonight soooo perfect opportunity to try out my new core workout program with "the ball" (see post from yesterday).

3:45 p.m: Orange

6:30 p.m: Whole wheat pasta, tomato sauce, marble cheese, frozen veggies... all together of course.

I did a bit of exercise with my swiss ball... I'm not gonna lie, I'm too lazy to go to the gym right now. Ugh. Anyways, tomorrow is boot camp and then back to normal workout schedule. It's been a month now since I started this nutso exercise regiment. I guess it's been successful... this is not official but I think I'm at like a 7 pound weight loss. I'm not 'officially' gonna weigh in until 3 months pass. I'll let my gym do the honors.

9:00 p.m: I may have just had like 4 tortilla chips with some goat cheese on it. Bit left over from when I was making tomorrow's lunch and it felt like a waste going in the fridge!

Sunday, April 24, 2011

Easters.

Happy Easter. This is what I am remembering this Easter Sunday. Wait til the very end.

Breakfast (10:30 a.m.): Corn flakes with 2% milk.

Lunch (2-3ish): Pho. See photo below. Too much soup/noodle. I couldn't finish it so really I feel like I just drank all the broth and ate the chicken. There was also some deep fried tofu there in the mix. Actually, I have the "after" photo as well. I guess I did just drink the broth.

Exercise (5:30-6 p.m.): 30 mins on elliptical.

Soooo I got back from gym and decided I would try out my new addition to the family... only $20 at Loblaws!! It comes with a CD of work outs too. I shall possibly try it tomorrow night. It says it's a lot of core workouts, which is great cause I feel like that's my problem area.

But then my friends called and they were going out and I hadn't seen them in a while so I said screw it. We went to Boston Pizza.

9 p.m: Salad below. It was lettuce, egg, tomato, bacon bits, cheese and chicken. Ranch dressing. With 2 pieces of garlic bread with cheese... how healthy of me.
11:42 p.m. and work tomorrow. Boooo. I can't sleep yet though cause I'm doing laundry and I've still got like another hour or so to go on it. I would've delayed it but my gym clothes are in there and tomorrow is a gym day.

Saturday, April 23, 2011

Saturday.

12 p.m: Orange

Exercise (1:30 p.m.): 30 mins on treadmill... 15 mins. of non stop jogging, yay! New record. Next time, 25!

3 p.m: Salad below. Arugula, tomato, potato, goat cheese in light balsamic dressing. I found a PC Blue Menu goat cheese that is quite low in fat and tastes pretty good!

5 p.m: I'm at the parents house, so unhealthy food time. I had a slice of veggie lasagna. Some almonds I saw laying around and this sweet bread thing my mom makes every Easter.

9 p.m: It only took my brother to ask once for me to agree "Do you want Baskin Robbins?". I hadn't had it in like God knows how long and ice cream is my weakness. Everyone knows this. I'd have it for breakfast lunch and dinner if I could. So, I had a single scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough. Heaven. Really. I used to work at that Baskin Robbins (for 6 years!) and my old boss was there. She was happy to see me. Got the ice cream for free. Anyways, 30 mins. later it went right through me. If you know what I'm saying *ahem*. I think it was my bodies way of saying "Bad Narine! No ice cream allowed for you!".

Tomorrow morning I agreed to go to church with the fam. Awkward times ahead. I'm sure there will be lots of food at the reception thing they'll have after.

All I can think about is that salad I had earlier and how delicious it was. Goat cheese = new obsession.

Also, the sore throat is back. wtf? It was gone and it's back with just as much pain as before. What's going on!?!

Friday, April 22, 2011

Goooood Friday.

12:30 p.m: Oatmeal with water, cinnamon and a banana.

Exercise (1:30-2:30 p.m.): 35 mins. powerwalking on treadmill and 30 mins of weights. Focused on arms. I'm gonna try doing some floor exercises now... planks and stuff.

Lunch (3:30 p.m.): Salad. Baby arugula, chicken stripes, frozen veggies, small potatoes, feta cheese, tomato with light balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Pretty good! Feels like I got a lot of greens in.

Exercise (5 p.m.): 30 mins on treadmill again.

6 p.m: Protein shake. Rice milk, strawberries, ice, protein powder and *gasp* another banana. That's two today. Bad Narine!

7:30 p.m: Stove top popcorn. Protein shake never fills me up :(

Thursday, April 21, 2011

Thursday... disguised as Friday.

Yay, it's the last day of the work week! :D

Breakfast (7:30 a.m.): Rice milk with granola cereal.
Lunch (12:30 p.m.): Chicken bibimbap. I may barf from fullness.

Sue me, I had chocolate covered almonds. It's the "Friday afternoon meeting" on this lovely Thursday posing as Friday. You may as well expect this every Friday.

I haven't worked out in 2 days now. Blah. It's a girl thing, yea I admitted it. Screw you if you have anything to say about it.

Dinner (7 p.m.): Same as last night. Sauteed mushrooms, artichokes, onion and chicken in beef broth and lemon juice. Delish!

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Ok, it's Wednesday. But, with having Friday off... week's almost over. Weather is crap.

Breakfast (9:20 a.m.): Typing as I eat this completely bland oatmeal! Mixed with water. I should've put a banana in here but I figured I'm likely going to have a protein shake later and it'll have a banana so can't do 2 in a day! Snacking on almonds too.

Lunch (12:30 p.m.): Soup from Ravi Soups.. best soup in the neighborhood! It had a bunch of stuff in there but what I can remember is chicken, lemongrass, edamame, coconut milk, bok choy... bit spicy somehow too. Came with a biscuit. There goes $10!

I've failed to mention that there is a big basket of those mini chocolate milk eggs in the office. I keep grabbing a few every time I walk by. They need to finish! GRRR!

Dinner (7:00 p.m.): Ok, delicious! I tried out this recipe I found online and it was great! See photo below but essentially I took a pan and in it heated up olive oil, lemon juice, beef broth, artichokes, chicken, mushrooms and onions. YUM! Here is the real recipe but I changed it up a bit cause I don't like some of the stuff they had. Plus, I think mine was healthier. I had two plates though!

Mardi.

I was supposed to go on the treadmill this morning... failed. :( Disappointed. Especially cause I think I gained a pound. Ew, I don't like my attitude here. I'm getting negative again.

Food!

9 - 11:30 a.m: Been snacking on baby carrots and almonds. Hungry for lunch!

12:30 p.m: Sushi. Basically consists of rice, avocado, yam, chicken and whatever it's wrapped in... seaweed? Yes.

Going to sneak out early to hit the gym and do a quick run. Then boot camp 6-7.
I'm at work... thinking of vacation. Do I want to do anything this year? For one, lots of my money is going to well, this whole thing. A trainer aint cheap when you're not rich! But I don't know, where would I even go and with who? My parents want to go to a resort in Dominican for a week in the Summer. I don't know, I might. Only if I can get into a bathing suit I feel comfortable in by sayyyy July. Then maybe! And only if it's under $1000. We'll see. Right now, nothing.

Ok so I just googled bathing suit's. I haven't worn a bathing suit since like... hmm in all honestly, last time I remember wearing one without shorts or a tank top was like maybe when I wasssss 11? I'm 26 now. I like to think this is the bathing suit I would wear if I ever did. I know, it's not even like a bikini or something. I don't know if I'd ever feel comfortable in one, even if I were like a size 0. But ya, always loved the retro bathing suit styles.

Exercise (5-7 p.m.): 35 mins. on treadmill... 15 of which I jogged. 1 hour of boot camp.

Dinner (7:45 p.m.): 3 lahmajoun and greek yogurt. That's the last of the lahmajoun. My mom got me a bunch and I had frozen it, all done! Finally. I feel guilty every time I eat it.

Shameless Plug's.

So, time to promote my gym's.
No one really reads this thing but I find when you use brand names blogs come up in Google searches. So, I'm hoping someone will google the following and get directed to me and read my positive words!

So, I go to two gym's right now. Holistic Jose and Cardio Go.

Holistic Jose
A friend and I found Jose's boot camp off a Living Social coupon. We thought, hey, why not try it? We did it for a month and liked it enough that we stayed. Essentially, you go to two 45 minute classes a week and focus on either arms or legs. It's not all working with machinery. It's a lot of stuff just you and the ground... I guess it's circuit training. See photo's below of examples. Anyways, I think what I like most about it is the atmosphere. Jose is a nice guy and he's not the kind of person who's yelling at you and making you feel like crap if you can't do something. He keeps you positive and you have fun exercising - is there such a thing?? You listen to some 90's slow jam's (haha, ok not always, maybe once or twice it happened!) and just go all out for 45 mins. Conveniently located in Union Station's Skywalk so it's nice for the downtown TO crowd.

Cardio Go @ The King West Club
So I joined this gym out of nowhere. One day I found another coupon online and figured, let me go in and ask about it. It's right next to my work. I go to the one at King/Duncan. So I walk in, expecting typical gym attitude and snobbiness. Opposite. Everyone was real nice. Long story short, I walked out of there with a month to month membership (no contract). I felt, oh no, you've been suckered into a gym!! I hate gym's. A few days later I did an assessment and after that, I ended up getting a personal trainer. Again, suckered!! At first I was bitter about the money part but then thought screw it, it's your health. So my trainer, let's call her... Sarah. Don't know if she'd want her name plastered over the Internet. I wonder if there's a Sarah there already? hmm. Anyways, it's working out well. This gym is not like others Ive been too. For one, they play Edge 102 and not top 40 all day, which I like. It felt good being on a treadmill while something like Soundgarden came on vs. The Black Eyed Peas.

Ok. the real shit. The good part is that I always feel welcome there. I walk in and it's like everyone seems to know my name and I truly feel like they give a shit. It doesn't seem like a big corporation where the staff is there one day and gone the next. Everyone seems like they're friends and genuinely good people. They have lots of equipment and a reallllly nice change room. Variety of people there from all walk's of life.

Recommended!!

Suddenly Monday

It's a short week (Friday off!!) so already I am excited.

Breakfast (7:30 a..m): Rice milk with granola cereal. Two days in a row! Need to go grocery shopping.

Current contents of my fridge: Marble cheese, Greek yogurt, rice milk, carrots, baby potatoes... wow, I think that's it.

Lunch (1 p.m.): Greek chicken salad. 4 mini chocolate milk eggs. You know, those tiny foil covered one's that are everywhere during Easter... bah. Work has too many temptations.

I'm finally seeing some progress so I'm extra motivated to work my ass off every time I'm at the gym. Like tonight, I know it's gonna be a tough one. I think I'm on arms duty and for some reason, I find it tougher than legs. In any case, I shall do it and suffer the pain!

Exercise (5:30 - 7 p.m.): 20 mins. on elliptical and 1 hour personal training session. My ass got kicked today.

Dinner (8 p.m.): Protein shake. Berries, banana, rice milk and protein powder.

9:00 p.m: Soooo protein shake was not filling. I was hungry. I had lahmajoun. See below or google it, I'm too lazy to explain with it is! Damn, it tasted delicious. I think I needed some good food.

6 a.m. treadmill run in the morning! Goodnight.

Sunday, April 17, 2011

1:30 p.m: Rice Milk with granola cereal.

Exercise (4:30 p.m.): 30 mins on treadmill.

5:30 p.m: Potato Salad. Baby potatoes mixed with frozen veggies (carrots, green beans/peas and corn) feta cheese and a bit of those fake bacon bits. Mixed in light balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Very filling. I feel like it was too carby.

I decided that today I will only walk around doing walking lunges. It's become hilarious. Only in my apartment of course but still, I find myself laughing cause I feel ridiculous. But hey, I feel the muscle burn so it's a good thing!

9:00 p.m: Orange

Late night snack (10 p.m.): Stove top popcorn.

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Lazy Saturday

Exercise (11:00 a.m): 30 mins. on elliptical machine.

12:00 p.m: Protein shake. Rice milk, frozen berries, banana, ice, protein powder.

Exercise (2:45 p.m.): 30 mins. on treadmill. I jogged for half! Up until today I was doing only 3 mins. consistently without stopping but just now I did 7 mins. with no break. That's a milestone for me! I'm also sweating buckets.

Soooo why exercise twice so far? Two reasons. It's cold and rainy and I'm having a boring "in" day so hey, what else is there to do? Second, I want Swiss Chalet. In order to have that, I need to burn off the calories it will have. So, I plan to potentially do another run later tonight and I think that will make me feel less guilty about having it. Hasn't been a good past few days for food I think.

Ok, order time. Gonna try to do some floor exercise's while I wait.

5:00 p.m.: Swiss Chalet. Quarter Chicken with fries and multi grain roll.

Exercise (7:00 p.m.): work out was meh. I did the treadmill for 20 mins. and then did a few different weight exercises focusing on arms. There were two creepy guys at the gym and they were well, creeping me out so I said screw it and left.

Now I shall retreat to a movie. Hmmm popcorn... that sounds like it could be awesome... ok done. Making just a little bit of stove top popcorn.

Goodnight!

Friday, April 15, 2011

Friday :) ... there will be cheating tonight.

Finally, Friday. Is it 5 yet?

Exercise (6 a.m.): 30 mins. on treadmill. I was planning on jogging but this pain in my right side came back pretty bad again. WTF. The chiropractor said it should go away, but then again I still need to see her like 4 more times. It's affected my walking today too, I seem to have this awkward limp. meh! Anyways, point is, I did something and I broke a sweat!

Breakfast (7:15 a.m.): Half a banana and some rice milk with cereal. Tough time swallowing still, damn throat...

I realise reading this that damn, I've got problems. Sore throat, pain in my side... what next!?! I'm really looking forward to my dinner plans later. Cantonese Chow Mein, here I come!

Lunch (12:30 p.m.): Salad with spinach, green peppers, some avocado, chicken breast, feta cheese and a few regular chips. Yes, chips. There were some in the kitchen and I thought hey, they're like croutons. Man, great idea! Tasted awesome. Balsamic Vinaigrette as dressing.

5:00 p.m.: The dreaded Friday afternoon 'meeting'. I had chips and chocolate covered almonds.

8:00 p.m.: Cantonese Chow Mein from Spring Rolls and a coconut milk shake. See photo below of chow mein. Found on google.

Goodnight! I think I have discovered what the pain on my right side could be. Google gave me a pretty good answer. Definitely going to the doctor's on Monday!

That's all I got.

Thursday, April 14, 2011

7:30 a.m.: Banana

Going to the walk-in clinic. This sore throat is not going away and it seems to get worse at night and in the morning. Let's see what I got!
Update... take some medicine and get over it! It's been a week lady. Anyways, Benylin, do your job!

9:40 a.m.: A single timbit. Regret! They don't even taste *that* good. Having some almonds instead.

12:30 p.m.: Lunch at Il Fornello for a co-workers going away. I tried to do the healthy thing... tried. Had 2 pieces of bread with olive oil and balsamic. Then, pizza. It was tomato sauce, cheese, mushrooms and arugula all over. See photo below of it halfway through! It wasn't too bad.

Exercise (4:30 p.m.): 30 minutes on treadmill. (6-6:45 p.m.): Boot camp

Dinner (8 p.m.): See below :) 2 scrambled eggs with spinach, green pepper, feta cheese, frozen peas, corn and carrots. Cooked chicken breast with some salt and pepper.

Exercise (10 p.m.): 45 mins. on treadmill... jogged in there a bit but mostly just walking fast.

Goodnight! Planning on a 6 a.m. treadmill run too. Going out for dinner tomorrow night and I already know what I'm eating isn't healthy. Gotta burn what I can off!

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Wednesday. Boooo.

7:30 a.m: Rice milk with granola cereal.

10:30 - 11:45 a.m.: Snacking on almonds and carrots. Lunch hour gym session today so I don't want to have a repeat of yesterday. Must stock up on food pre work out! Learned my lesson there.

I made a salad for lunch which could taste like crap. I'm not looking forward to it, we'll see.

Exercise (12-1 p.m.): 1 hour personal training... mostly legs. I learned today that when I first started I could only do 20 seconds of planks. Today I did 1 minute 10 seconds non stop. Woohoo! :) See below for photo of a plank. Trying to make this blog more photo friendly. I hate blogs with too much writing.

Lunch (1:30 p.m.): Salad which I barely finished. Spinach, chickpeas, green peppers, tomato, marble cheese, grilled mushrooms and balsamic vinagreitte. Slice of pumpernickle bread. 75% of it went in the garbage.

6:00 p.m: Banana

Dinner (6:30 p.m.): Whole wheat pasta with frozen veggies, low fat tomato sauce, spinach and marble cheese. Yum! Lunch didn't even count to me today. I barely ate any so I figure I can splurge on dinner with some carbs.

9:00 p.m: Greek yogurt.

My throat keeps hurting at night only. wtf.

PC Blue Menu

So I shop at Loblaw's. If you shop there, you might know of their 'Blue Menu'. It's basically a healthier option to everything, or so they say. I buy a lot of blue menu items and it scares me that it's all a sham. I need help! I've learned how to read nutrition labels but still, you never know. Luckily, their web-site is quite handy and gives you info on everything!

Click here to view their whole product list.

Now, here are the items I buy which I believe are good and taste pretty good to me. Thoughts anyone?? You can check the nutrition if you click on the title. :) See, I'm helpful!

PC Blue Menu 3 Servings Fruit &Vegetables

PC Blue Menu Oven Roasted Turkey Breast

Toozdee.

Breakfast (7:15 a.m.): Plain oatmeal and water, bit of cinnamon for flavour. Didn't help much.

Snack (10-11 a.m.): Roasted unsalted almonds. Maybe too much. Those things are addictive... although they are healthy you shouldn't have too much! Oh, I also had 4 chocolate covered pretzels.

Exercise (12-1 p.m.): 1 hour personal training, arms and legs. I had a 'moment'. It was one of those moments of lack of food and energy all coming to you at once. Specifically, I felt like DJ Tanner in that episode of Full House when she overworks herself.  Of course, it's on you tube :) Anyways, I just took a break and finished it off. I'm a trooper!

Lunch (1:30 p.m.): Greek chicken salad. (romaine lettuce, feta cheese, tomato, Greek dressing, chicken breast and some tzaztiki sauce.)

Snack (3:30 p.m.): Couple more almonds.

5:30 p.m: Banana

Exercise (6-7 p.m.): Boot camp! Legs.

Dinner (8:30 p.m.): Protein shake. Strawberries, banana, rice milk, ice, protein powder. Making lunch for tomorrow and stole some grilled mushrooms while cooking.

Monday, April 11, 2011

Breakfast (7:30 a.m.): Orange

Lunch (12:45 p.m.): Chicken burrito. So healthy, right?  Whole wheat pita, chicken, rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, tomato, corn.

Exercise (6:30 - 7:15 p.m.):  45 mins on treadmill... 20 of which was intervals so a bit of running.

Dinner (8:15 p.m.): See below. Making do of whatever is in the fridge. Scrambled eggs. 2 eggs, bit of butter, frozen veggies, lean turkey meat, and I mixed it with low fat sour cream and salsa. Not bad!

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Reflection time.

Breakfast (10:30 a.m.): Tea. I don't know how else to explain this so here is a pic I found of what else I had. It's pita bread with some sort of spice on top of it, with olive oil. It's a middle eastern thing.

Lunch (2:30 p.m.): A Strawberry banana 'energy' drink from Freshly Squeezed. I was in the mall and needed to be held over until dinner later. I think it was mildy healthy. Low fat frozen yogurt, whey protein powder, strawberries and banana.

Dinner (7ish): Went to a sushi place with friends... I had chicken bibimbap. See photo off google. It's veggies and an egg, over rice. The rice is the worst part. boooo.

It's been a carby day. Week-end healthy eating fail.

I was at the mall today with a friend and we were just browsing, not really shopping. Something occurred to me. I've spent my whole life, really whole life, walking into clothing stores knowing I can't buy whatever I want. I can only buy what will fit and it's usually like really 30% of the stuff in a normal store. I thought wow, if I do lose this weight and get to a 'normal' weight, what will it be like to walk in to like say H&M and have the option to buy ANYTHING. I've always been someone who loves fashion and felt I could never really be me or show myself through clothes. Will I be able too soon? I don't even know what it feels like to have options.

I better save my money.

Lastly, this is the first time in my life that I've ever thought so positive about getting to a goal. I can't give up now.

My legs are quite sore today. I wanted to work out in the morning but I am delaying it maybe until later tonight. I blame the walking lunges!

Brunch (1 p.m.): Protein shake. Strawberries, banana, rice milk, ice, protein powder.

Went to the parent's house, finally. Not good.

I'm recapping cause I had no internet while I was there so no clue of time but this is what I ate...

Maybe about 10 almonds.
My aunt was frying ground beef and the smell was too delicious to pass up. I put some in pita bread and ate it. To die for. I killed my "no red meat" in 2011. Meh! 3 months was long enough!

The following. My mom made taboule and I made my zuccini stuffed with more zuccini, rice, veggies, sunflower seeds and cheese.

Think that was it for the night! I fell asleep early again, still not feeling well.

It's Friiiiiday.....

Breakfast (7:30 a.m.): Granola cereal and my new replacement for milk... rice dream. I barely had enough to fill my small bowl. I'm already hungry!

I didn't bring lunch today. Give me a break, I've been doing it all week! So, I want to go out. Mainly because I just want to actually go out and not be in the office. Feels like a nice day for it. Don't know what I'll have yet but I'll be sure to try and make the healthiest choice wherever we go!

Lunch (12:30 p.m.): We we're going to go for Thai food but thank God for the line up cause I was already thinking I shouldn't be eating that. We went to BBQ Express on Queen. Meh. I got a ham and cheese sandwich. It was... ok.

Snack (5:00 p.m.): Friday afternoon work meeting. Always a killer. Had chips and chocolate covered almonds. Booooo. Double the workout for me today.

Exercise (6 - 7:30 p.m.): 1 hour personal training and 30 mins treadmill.

Dinner (9:00 p.m.): See pic below. It looks unhealthy. Thin bagel with avocado and cheese. This is the last of my cheese! No more for me for a while.

Nutritional info for the bagel... I don't know, seems good??

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Breakfast (7:25 a.m.): Banana

Snack (10:30 a.m.): Baby carrots

Lunch (12:15 p.m.): Thin bagel with turkey, spinach and cheese. Bit of grilled mushrooms on the side. 6 chocolate covered almonds, Yes, 6. It was the best part of the meal.

Exercise (6-6:45 p.m.): Boot camp. Arms. I felt weaker than usual... but hey, I tried!

Dinner (8 p.m.): I made a protein shake I like, yay! :) Rice milk*, strawberries, banana, ice and my protein powder. Loving it! Here is my protein powder... with nutrition info. No one crush my dreams and tell me this stuff sucks too!

I really am craving stove top popcorn so this shake for dinner will do. I expect to snack on that around 9 p.m. haha

* Rice milk shall now replace actual milk. I tried almond milk and meh, I think rice is better for me. Regardless, it's better that actual milk I guess.

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

I feel a bit better today... still a bit off but surviving! I barely ate yesterday cause of the sick thing and this morning I was down like an extra 3 pounds.. yikes!! I like to tell myself it's cause of my working out. Likely, it's cause I hadn't eaten.

Breakfast (7 a.m.): Orange

Lunch (12:15 p.m.): This mini veggie sandwich thing... free from work. 1 cookie.

Dinner (7 p.m.): See pic below. Asparagus (which I didn't end up finishing), mushrooms, and 2 boiled eggs.

Exercise: 30 mins. of elliptical. I did 15 mins in the hot tub. Hoping it helps with my soreness.

Snack (9:00 p.m.): Greek yogurt.

Death.

My entire body hurts today and I have a sore throat. I had to skip my morning treadmill workout and it's looking like I might have to skip boot camp :( Everything hurts, and to top it, I am incredibly stressed at work today. I need to lay down or go in a hottub.

Breakfast (7:30 a.m.): Juice

Lunch (12:30 p.m.) One slice of veggie pizza. No time to go out to get food and luckily work ordered pizza for some meeting and 1 slice was left.

Snack throughout: Carrots

death right now. death.

**NEXT DAY UPDATE** So, I came home. No appetite. Fell asleep with chills and woke up again at 9:30 p.m. sweating. I took off a layer of clothing then woke up again the next morning. I needed the rest.

Monday, April 4, 2011

Breakfast (7:30 a.m.): Banana

Lunch (12 p.m.): Thin bagel with deli turkey, cheddar cheese and spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Didn't eat much of the salad though, grossed me out a bit.

Afternoon snack: Baby carrotts

Exercise (6:15 - 7:45 p.m.): 20 mins on treadmill and 1 hour training session... arms and core.

Dinner (9: 00 p.m.): Later than I hoped. 3 lahmagoun and my yogurt drink. See dinner from last night for what the hell I am talking about.

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Breakfast (1 p.m.): Baby carrots

Snack (3 p.m.): Banana

Exercise (4 p.m.): 30 mins on elliptical. 30 mins of weights, focusing on arms. I also managed to do 3 sets of the "superman" for 1 minute each without giving up. HOLY SHIT was my reaction. When I first did those in February in boot camp, I could barely get through like 30 seconds. Now I did 3 in a row for 1 min each. YEA!!

What is Superman? This.

Dinner (5:45 p.m.): Thin bagel with avocado and cheddar cheese. 1 orange.

More Dinner (7 p.m.): I'm still hungry :( My mom gave me lahmajoun (see below). I had two. It's thin dough with a puree of beef, tomato, onion... who knows. I had some ayran with it. That's basically greek yogurt mixed with water and salt. A tasty drink that no one would think to make but I grew up with it.

Saturday, April 2, 2011

Yea so I slept in, whatever. It's Saturday. It was glorious.
Today I'm going to visit the parent's. Let's hope there is decent food there.
I also decided to weigh myself this morning. It appears as though I am about 4 pounds down. Holy crap. Let's hope it's accurate cause that's already motivating the shit out of me to keep this up!

Breakfast (1 p.m.):
Greek yogurt.

Exercise ( 2:15 p.m.): 45 mins. of cardio on the elliptical machine.

Snack, post gym: Veggie juice and a banana.

Dinner (8:00 p.m.): CHEAT CITY. My friends and I went to Congee Wong. Basically, different stirfry's we shared.

Desert (10:30 p.m.): Popcorn. Popped stove-top, it works! .... oh and juice again as my drink.

I'm feeling really guilty about my dinner. It could've been waaaaay worse. Still, all I can think about is going to the gym tomorrow and working out. Probably a good thing!

Friday, April 1, 2011

Breakfast (7:30 a.m.): Oatmeal. Not the yummy 'comes in a box' Maple Brown sugar Oatmeal like I would've liked. No, oats with water and some cinammon. I won't lie, I forced myself to eat it. I got through most of it before I realised it took me 15 minutes to eat like half. It usually takes me 5 minutes to eat breakfast. I was 10 minutes late for work cause of it.

Morning snack (10 a.m.): Oatmeal left me hungry. Thank God I brought carrots.

Lunch (1 p.m.): Salad. Spinach, feta cheese, tomato, chick peas and bit of chicken. Olive oil dressing.

Cheats: A *couple* of ketchup chips, 1 single chocolate mini egg, and some chocolate covered almonds! Damn you work and your temptations!!

Dinner (8 p.m.) : A 'veggie' shot. This drink I tried that's new from PC that says it's pure veggie and gives you 3 servings per. Also, a chicken ceaser wrap from Pita Pit. Whole wheat pita, chicken breast, strip of bacon, lettuce, green pepper, onion and ceaser dressing.

Exercise (10 p.m. - 1 a.m.) : Friday night volleyball has begun! Usually it's hot in the place but it's not summer yet so yea, not as sweaty haha but I had enough exercise I think by playing.

After volleyball my friends decided to go for wings and drinks.... at 1:30 a.m. Thank freakin God I don't drink but it was a struggle watching them eat the honey garlic wings and not have any. I had a glass of water. Luckily, I was so sleepy I literally fell asleep while they ate. hah.
